Lets Get Serious
I watch GSP fight, and I can't help but think of how awesome his legs look. He's 5'10", weighs in at 170, walks around mid to lower 190, and the man is a beast. Now, before you think differently, I know that weighing the same as GSP doesnt mean anything, but I still like to have goals, and he's a good example, I think.
I figure that I have 2 major advantage on my side. The biggest, is that I'm an ectomorph, like GSP, and so I naturally have an easier time keeping the fat off, and building lean muscle. As long as I train hard, and keep an eye on my diet, I will get there eventually. The second advantage that I have is that I've been working out for a while, and I didn't get too big too fast. I've always wanted quality muscle over quantity, and so I've managed to build lots of strength without looking like a beefcake.
I'm going to start posting my weight (before workouts), and I'll post the workouts that I've done as well, including how much time I spent at the gym.
My goal right now, is to make my back and legs bigger and stronger, while strengthening my core and maintaining the strength I have in my upper body. I last weighed in at 188lbs, I'm about 71.75 inches tall (just a smidge under 6ft), and I have about 11% body fat as according to those ones that they have at LA Fitness. I just did a very intense leg workout on Wednesday, which only lasted 20 min with no break at all.
For this month, I'm going to give my joints and bones a rest.
I'm going to focus on using more body weight with my workouts. Something like this:
- For my legs, I'm going to implement some no-break low impact plyometric routines.
- For my core, I'm going to see what I can do w/a Swiss ball, I just don't know what yet.
- For my back, I'm going to be doing 1 armed push-ups, slow pull ups, and slow dips.
- For my chest, I'm going to be doing 1 armed push-ups, slow pull ups, and rolling push-ups.
- I'll be doing a yoga class once a week to keep everything stretching and healing properly.
- I'll be also implement a short 5 minute warm up before every routine, and have 1 day of intense aerobic cardio.
Lets see what happens, eh?
